Tykeography: why I will never be anything but a...
If anyone ever asked me, “where are you from?” I’d not answer I’m English or British; neither term means anything to me. I spent time visiting Wales when my eldest siblings were there, spent a ton of time in Scotland with my dad, and loved both. Sure, home was always in England, but it seems disrespectful to me to ignore them.
At the same time, British means nothing to me;...

My mind is wired
So, still can’t talk about work, so option 1 of “what’s buzzing around my skull right now” is out. I’m still full of cyberpunk stuff though, so I’ll drop some of that.
So, cyberpunk’s biggest aging factor is that it’s a wired world; machines are connected by physical wires, and drones are controlled by radio frequencies. Wifi and bluetooth...
Open your eyes....
So, for reasons I can’t disclose, sleep is not an option. So, here I sit, listening to the greatest hits of Erasure. As the Killers sang, “it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad; how do you know that you’re right?”
Dreams and Reflections
Hopefully, this finally gets linked on Twitter!
So, like every other human on this planet I’m sure, I spend a large amount of my time daydreaming how I’d like my world to change. I’m a geek, so sometimes this errs on the side of “man, if I had power X, I could Y”. But sometimes, it’s a little more real, and it’s these that interest me more. For...

This is called killing time... Are we...
So, I’m in Hell right now, so I thought I may as well blog about other stuff to pass some of the 11 hours I have nothing to do in. Phone email is so darned handy! I’ll be assembling this post whenever I have time, so it may end up a little… disjointed. It’ll also be horrendously long. I can’t talk about work. Reason 1 is there’s so many stories about people...
Budgets and cider house rules, oh my...
So, here in good ol’ Blighty we just got the pre-election budget. It’s nothing amazing, and in many ways that’s a problem - they should at least have brought in the Robin Hood Tax to slap the fat cats - but one move has made me smile…
They’re going to heavily tax cider. Now you may be thinking, “why is that a good thing?” Well, here in this lovely...

Jury-rigged genius, mark 2 - fun with loans
So… my mahoosive data usage, it turns out, was 41 automatic updates from forgetting to turn off auto-updates. Whoops. 142MB used altogether. Lesson learned; all auto-updating software is now closed or has such features switched off.
So, while I was off the interwebs, I watched some TV. After all, there’s a 42” 1080p TV and a full Sky package to use. In the process, I came across...
Bah. Hate Tuesdays.
So, I’m stuck in work, on Sam’s busted laptop, using my mobile as a modem to get this out. That is how bored I am; I’m willing to jury-rig a modem just so I can go look at funny pictures of cats.
Still, 92MB of internet use in (ee-ook - doubt I’ll do this often!) and I have at least seen what I’ve been missing while, y’know, working. For a start, Nintendo...
Testing, 1, 2...
So, yet again I’m starting a blog. This is my… 4th? Yeah, 4th. But this one will be different!
Deadjournal died because I switched to Livejournal. Livejournal died because, frankly, I got sick of it; these days, it’s a little clunky. The Blogspot blog died because… well, I set it up as a review page, and it got to the point where I had such a backlog and neither the time...
